A True Entrepreneurial Spirit
The copier industry was just starting when Emery O. Johnson started his company in 1957. He saw an opportunity to sell, service, and support 3M copiers and became their dealer for north, central, and western Wisconsin. He opened the door to his first office in Wausau, WI in May 1957 and made his first sale the next day. EO had a true entrepreneurial spirit and built his company on one key value proposition – treat customers the way he would want to be treated.

Mary Jo Johnson, daughter of EO, joined the company in 1985 after working outside the industry. She worked in many different areas of the company (telemarketing, sales, color, faxes, and training) before being named CEO in 1999. She very much worked her way up through the ranks of the company her father founded, developing an understanding of the business from the ground up.

A Changing Industry
Today’s highly sophisticated equipment and software has replaced the simple copiers of the early days. And EO Johnson Office Technologies has embraced the changes, making sense of them, and bringing solutions to their customers. Today, EO Johnson Office Technologies has four offices – headquarters in Wausau, WI, Eau Claire, WI, La Crosse, WI, and Rochester, MN. What began as a humble one-person copier company in 1957 has grown into an industry-recognized leader among independent dealers. The one thing that hasn’t changed is EO Johnson Office Technologies’ commitment to its customers.
