Managing a printer fleet across dozens of locations with diverse services, from agriculture to retail, had become increasingly complex for Synergy Cooperative. "We didn't have the appropriate machines in the right locations to meet our needs," noted their team, underscoring the inefficiencies in equipment placement. At the same time, printer supplies were being ordered inconsistently, with "different people ordering different things from multiple locations," leading to unnecessary costs and confusion. The Solution
EO Johnson conducted a comprehensive print study across all Synergy Cooperative locations, recommending right-sized equipment solutions that reduced the number of machines in their fleet and streamlined print-related processes. “We were able to cut back on the number of machines we had and streamline processes, which helps our bottom line,” Synergy noted. In addition to optimizing the print environment, EO Johnson performed a detailed assessment of Synergy’s accounts payable processes and discovered that some invoices were being handled eight to ten times - an inefficiency that directly translated into unnecessary costs. “That many touches on an invoice directly equates to costs for us,” the team acknowledged. To support long-term improvements, EO Johnson is also training managers at each location to ensure a successful rollout of the new document management software. “EO Johnson has gone above and beyond to help us understand how we can improve processes,” said Synergy, noting that the insights gained have prompted a broader evaluation of operational workflows throughout the organization.
